Troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have successfully neutralised armed bandits en route to launch coordinated attacks on communities in Plateau State.
In a statement Media Information Officer Operation SAFE HAVEN Major Samson Nantip Zhakom said the operation, carried out in the early hours of 27 May 2025, followed credible intelligence indicating plans by the militia to assault Teng and Kayarda villages in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area. Acting on the tip-off, troops set up ambush positions and engaged the assailants, neutralising three of them while others fled the scene.
During the encounter, troops recovered four AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and 56 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition. The seized weapons are now in military custody, while efforts continue to track down the fleeing criminals and recover more illicit arms.
This operation underscores the Nigerian Army’s ongoing commitment to dismantling criminal networks and enhancing security in the Joint Operations Area.
