In a coordinated effort between the Nigerian Army and the Civilian Joint Task Force, deployed for Counterterrorism operations in the North East, a decisive Clearance operation was conducted at Mashurori Village in Borno State. The operation culminated in the successful ambush of terrorists who were en route to launch an attack on the village.
Prompted by actionable intelligence regarding the impending threat posed by terrorist elements, the troops strategically positioned themselves to intercept the hostile force. Subsequently, a firefight ensued, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists.
Moreover, the operation yielded the recovery of significant weaponry and supplies, including two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and 58 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Additionally, a motorbike utilized by the terrorists in their nefarious activities was seized.
Further demonstrating the troops’ effectiveness, they apprehended levy tickets and a cash sum of sixty thousand naira (₦60,000:00), indicative of the terrorists’ involvement in illicit extortion schemes.
