Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have killed two terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation, carried out under Operation Lafiya Nakowa, followed credible intelligence on a planned attack on Chanchanji community by the Bojo terrorist group on September 15, 2025.
Army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, said the troops intercepted the terrorists along the Demeva–Chanchanji road, where one was neutralized. A follow-up mission led to another engagement at Demeva–Gbudu axis, a suspected crossing point into Ananum community in Donga LGA, where another terrorist was killed.
Items recovered included one G3 rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a motorcycle.
Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and reiterated the Army’s resolve to sustain aggressive operations against criminal groups in Taraba and its environs. He urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information to help restore peace in the state.
