The vigilant efforts of Naval troops from “Operation DELTA SANITY” resulted in a significant interception near the NNPC Floating Station, in proximity to Ibaka beach, Akwa Ibom State.
In a post on its social media page, the Nigerian Navy said Forward Operating Base IBAKA successfully apprehended a wooden boat and detained six suspects in connection with illicit activities.
The intercepted vessel was found to be transporting approximately 6,790 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) contained within drums and rubbers. Additionally, authorities discovered over 200 cartons of tiles, along with various other non-contraband items, indicating potential involvement in illicit trade operations.

Operation DELTA SANITY, a security initiative aimed at curbing illegal activities within the region, has been instrumental in enforcing maritime laws and safeguarding against unlawful practices. The successful operation underscores the dedication of law enforcement agencies in combating criminal activities, particularly in maritime zones susceptible to smuggling and trafficking.

The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation as investigations continue into the origins and intended destination of the seized contraband. The collaborative efforts of security personnel and authorities remain steadfast in upholding law and order, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
Further details regarding the apprehension and subsequent legal proceedings are anticipated to be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
