Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded significant operational successes against terrorist elements in a series of coordinated engagements across the North East, maintaining firm control of key locations despite sustained attacks.
Confirming the report, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI Lieut Col. Sani Uba said troops of Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI on 28 January 2026 carried out a well-coordinated dawn surprise operation at Bula Dalo. During the encounter, more than 12 terrorists were neutralised, while others fled in disarray. The troops also recovered several weapons, including four AK-47 rifles, one PKT anti-aircraft gun, one rocket-propelled grenade launcher and one multiple grenade launcher.

In a separate, deliberate operation at the Garno terrorist camp, Sector 1 troops further degraded terrorist capabilities by neutralising six additional fighters, destroying their life-support structures and recovering a large cache of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition.
Meanwhile, troops of Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI at Sabon Gari repelled an ISWAP attack in the early hours of 29 January 2026. The assault, which involved the use of multiple armed drones, briefly breached part of the defensive position. However, the troops swiftly repelled the attackers, held their ground and restored full control with timely reinforcement from nearby locations.
The military confirmed that some soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force lost their lives during the defence of the position, while an excavator and a low-bed vehicle were damaged as a result of the armed drone attack.
According to the military, exploitation of the affected areas is ongoing as operations continue to deny terrorists freedom of action across the theatre.
