The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to international capacity building as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, global law enforcement standards and operational response capabilities.
According to tatement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, this was disclosed at the graduation ceremony of three officers of the Nigeria Police Force at the Abu Dhabi Police College, United Arab Emirates, where they completed an intensive international training programme. The IGP was represented at the event by the Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Lagos Annex, CP Bode Ojajuni.
The officers—Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdullah Yusuf, Assistant Superintendent of Police Faith Asigidi and Inspector Noah Joseph, all of the INTERPOL Bureau of the NPF—were among 52 police officers drawn from 44 police agencies across 35 countries who participated in the four-month basic academy training.
The programme was organised under the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Programme, a collaborative initiative designed to promote cross-border cooperation, knowledge sharing and best practices in modern policing.
The graduation ceremony attracted high-profile attendance, including the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, senior Emirati government officials, police leaders and international dignitaries from participating countries.
The Nigeria Police Force noted that participation in such global training platforms underscores its resolve to align with international policing standards and enhance its capacity to effectively respond to emerging security challenges.
