Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued abducted persons following a swift response to a terrorist attack along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation took place on September 4, 2026, when troops conducting a routine patrol observed armed bandits attacking two persons travelling on a motorcycle.
The troops immediately mobilised and moved to the scene. On sighting the advancing security personnel, the attackers fled into the surrounding terrain, abandoning their captives.
The rescued victims were subsequently secured by the troops, while security forces intensified patrols and other operations across the area to prevent further attacks and restrict the movement of criminal elements.
The intensified operations are aimed at denying terrorists and bandits freedom of movement while strengthening the safety and security of residents along the affected corridor and surrounding communities.
