Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has hailed the recent negotiations with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa as a major success, emphasizing the significant potential for the state’s development. The discussions, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, centered on forming partnerships in key areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, and energy security.
Governor Buni highlighted the importance of agriculture, noting it as the primary occupation for many in Yobe State and crucial for achieving food security and economic growth. He also emphasized the state’s focus on vocational training to boost employment and economic recovery, particularly in the wake of insurgency-related destruction.
The governor further underlined the state’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, which he described as vital for socio-economic development. While acknowledging ongoing investments in education and healthcare, Buni noted that there remains room for improvement, and these sectors were included in the partnership discussions.
Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the Arab Bank, expressed satisfaction with Yobe State’s efforts in reconstruction and recovery, commending the government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens. He assured the governor of the bank’s readiness to support and enhance these achievements through the proposed partnerships.
