Yobe Government and Arab Bank explore partnership for post-insurgency recovery

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, held discussions with Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), to explore potential partnerships aimed at supporting the state’s post-insurgency recovery efforts. The meeting took place on Tuesday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Governor Buni emphasized the significance of this collaboration, noting Yobe’s severe impact from the Boko Haram insurgency, which left widespread destruction across the state. He highlighted the state’s progress in restoring peace and resettling displaced persons after rebuilding critical infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and water facilities.

Dr. Tah commended Governor Buni’s efforts to revitalize Yobe’s economy and improve the lives of its citizens. He assured the Governor that BADEA would explore areas of cooperation to aid the state’s reconstruction and recovery programs. “We are ready to support your laudable efforts to achieve the set goals,” Dr. Tah affirmed.
