Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai have sustained offensive operations across the North-East theatre, neutralising terrorists, arresting suspected collaborators, and recording the surrender of an insurgent as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
The operations were conducted under Operation Desert Sanity V, a renewed military campaign targeting insurgent strongholds and supply routes within the region.
In a joint operation with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), troops engaged terrorists advancing from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis. During the encounter, four terrorists were killed, while troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and food supplies believed to be part of insurgent logistics. No casualties were recorded among the troops.
Military authorities said sustained clearance and interdiction operations along strategic routes, including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, have further restricted terrorist movement and disrupted infiltration corridors.

In a separate development, troops deployed at Kanama intercepted and arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators during a stop-and-search operation. Items recovered from the suspects included clothing and personal effects linked to logistics support, while preliminary digital analysis reportedly revealed incriminating materials suggesting ties to insurgent groups. The suspects remain in custody pending further investigation.
Troops also recorded the surrender of a suspected member of Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area. The individual claimed he was abducted earlier in the year and forced to join the group. He is currently undergoing profiling and further interrogation.
The Theatre Command reiterated its commitment to restoring peace, security, and economic stability across the North-East, urging residents to provide timely and credible intelligence to security agencies.
Military authorities also commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, directing them to maintain the current operational tempo in the ongoing campaign against insurgency.
