Fire incident engulfs Canadian High Commission office in Abuja

A section of the Canadian High Commission Office in Abuja, Nigeria, was engulfed by a fire outbreak, casting a pall of uncertainty over the cause of the incident.

The incident unfolded at the office located at 13010G, Palm Close, Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District in Abuja. On Monday morning, a fire broke out, necessitating the evacuation of the office’s personnel.

At the time of this report, comprehensive details regarding the incident remained elusive. Nevertheless, Amiola Adebayo, the Head of Operations of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service, disclosed that a distressing outcome had transpired, with at least three individuals being urgently transported to a medical facility.

Mr. Adebayo remarked, “We have witnessed two individuals with critical injuries, while others are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital, totaling three or possibly four victims.” Unfortunately, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Efforts to solicit a response from the High Commission regarding the inferno proved unfruitful, as they did not provide any comments at this time.
