The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has congratulated the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Emeritus Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, on his 72nd birthday, praising his contributions to Islamic affairs, education and national development.
In a congratulatory message dated October 10, 2026, the MMPN National President, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, described Oloyede as an accomplished scholar and administrator whose decades of service had made a lasting impact on Nigeria’s Muslim community and the wider society.
Balogun said the celebrant had continued to serve Islam and the nation with exceptional knowledge, experience and dedication to duty.
He particularly commended Oloyede, a former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, for his contributions to educational development, the promotion of Islamic values and the strengthening of Muslim institutions.
According to him, Oloyede’s influence extends beyond the public offices he has occupied to include religious leadership, mentorship, educational advancement and advocacy for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
The MMPN president also acknowledged the scholar’s role in representing Muslim interests and engaging with issues affecting both the Muslim community and the broader Nigerian society.
He urged young Muslims, particularly those pursuing careers in education, journalism and public service, to draw inspiration from Oloyede’s commitment to scholarship, integrity and service to humanity.
Balogun prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the NSCIA secretary-general good health, wisdom and many more years of fruitful service to Islam, Nigeria and humanity.
The MMPN wished Oloyede a happy 72nd birthday, expressing confidence that Allah would continue to guide and strengthen him in his service to the Muslim community and the nation.
