The Rotary Club of Abuja Gudu is set to implement a five-in-one community outreach programme aimed at promoting education, peacebuilding, public health, hygiene and economic empowerment in Gaduwa, Abuja.
The initiative, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the LEA Primary School, Angwa Fulani Village, behind NPI Estate, Gaduwa, will combine five development interventions in a coordinated effort to address community needs and improve residents’ well-being.
The programme, which begins at 9 a.m., will feature back-to-school support for pupils, a spelling bee competition with prizes, a presentation on crisis prevention, free health checks, the installation of a handwashing station and bead-making skills acquisition.
The club said the initiative was designed to provide immediate support while creating opportunities for long-term development, healthier living and self-reliance.
Under the education component, pupils will receive back-to-school support, while the spelling bee competition is expected to promote literacy, stimulate academic interest and build confidence among participants.
The peacebuilding segment will feature a presentation on crisis prevention, focusing on conflict prevention, peaceful coexistence and the importance of fostering harmonious relationships within communities.
The health component will provide residents with free health checks, while the installation of a handwashing station is expected to encourage proper hygiene practices and strengthen awareness of disease prevention.
In addition, the bead-making skills acquisition programme will equip participants with practical vocational knowledge that could support self-employment, entrepreneurship and supplementary income generation.
By integrating these interventions, the Rotary Club of Abuja Gudu seeks to address education, health, sanitation, social stability and economic needs through a single community-based programme.
The outreach will also provide an opportunity for Rotarians, residents and other stakeholders to collaborate on practical solutions that promote inclusive and sustainable community development.
The initiative aligns with Rotary International’s humanitarian service objectives, which include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene, supporting education, saving mothers and children, growing local economies and protecting the environment.
The club has invited fellow Rotarians and members of the public to participate in the programme, which will take place at LEA Primary School, Angwa Fulani Village, Gaduwa, Abuja.
Through the five-in-one outreach, the club aims to bring essential services, educational encouragement and livelihood opportunities closer to residents while strengthening community participation in local development.
