A development advocate and grassroots mobiliser, Marcus Adedini, has formally declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ife Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Adedini confirmed his entry into the race following the purchase of nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress, describing the move as a commitment to expand his role in public service and drive community-focused development across Ife.
Presenting himself as a candidate with deep grassroots engagement, he cited years of involvement in initiatives spanning education, healthcare, youth empowerment and social welfare. He said these interventions demonstrate a sustained effort to improve living standards and broaden access to opportunities within the constituency.
In the education sector, Adedini highlighted scholarship programmes, distribution of instructional materials and support for infrastructure development aimed at strengthening teaching and learning outcomes. He added that his healthcare outreach initiatives have delivered medical services to underserved communities while promoting preventive health awareness.
He also emphasised youth empowerment as a core priority, referencing programmes designed to equip young people with vocational skills, entrepreneurial training and startup support to address unemployment and encourage economic self-reliance. Similar interventions, he noted, have targeted women and vulnerable groups to enhance livelihoods and social inclusion.
Adedini further pointed to his legislative exposure, including participation in policy discussions and contributions to draft bills in areas such as education, healthcare and social development. According to him, this experience, alongside knowledge of budgeting processes and project facilitation, would position him to attract federal projects to the constituency.
He called on constituents to support his ambition, pledging a campaign centred on inclusivity, accountability and issue-based engagement. Adedini assured residents of responsive representation if elected, stating that his agenda is focused on sustainable development and collective progress.
