On October 5, 2024, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, conducted an operational tour of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) units in Enugu and Port Harcourt, aimed at assessing the units’ readiness and infrastructural development.
The visit underscores the CAS’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and operational effectiveness across the force.
During his tour, Air Marshal Abubakar inspected key installations, including the 405 Helicopter Combat Training Group and the International Helicopter Flying School in Enugu, as well as the 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt. His assessment focused on evaluating the state of infrastructure and the operational preparedness of personnel.
In meetings with NAF personnel, the CAS stressed the importance of maintaining high levels of readiness to meet evolving security challenges. He reiterated his dedication to advancing developmental projects and prioritizing the procurement of critical support resources to further enhance airpower capabilities.
The visit reflects Air Marshal Abubakar’s strategic vision of strengthening the NAF through infrastructure upgrades, operational support, and improved welfare programs, all designed to boost the overall capacity of the Nigerian Air Force.
