Akume affirms President Tinubu’s commitment to national progress

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has reiterated that President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to advancing Nigeria’s development, pledging his unwavering support for the administration’s policies and initiatives.

Speaking over the weekend in Abuja, Akume made this commitment while being honored as the “Star Associate of President Tinubu” and Grand Patron of the Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA). The award was conferred by Hon. Henry Nwabueze, National Coordinator and President of NTCA, who led a delegation of the movement’s leaders to the SGF’s office.

Akume reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu’s policies aimed at ensuring national security and economic revitalization. He pledged to continue working diligently to advance the administration’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

Hon. Nwabueze praised Senator Akume’s extensive contributions to national service, emphasizing that his leadership and dedication made him the ideal choice for the NTCA Grand Patron position and the first recipient of the “Star Associate of President Tinubu” award. According to Nwabueze, the award recognizes individuals across various fields whose efforts align with the President’s vision for national transformation.

Nwabueze, a former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and a distinguished delegate at the 2014 Justice Kutigi National Conference, lauded Akume’s embodiment of competence, discipline, and hard work in governance. He also announced that NTCA would soon launch advocacy campaigns to further support President Tinubu’s agenda for repositioning the country.

Addressing the political landscape ahead of 2027, Nwabueze advised aspiring presidential candidates to reconsider their ambitions, emphasizing that “there will be no vacancy in Aso Rock in that year.”

During the conferment ceremony, Nwabueze highlighted Akume’s longstanding contributions to public service, spanning over five decades in various capacities, including as a Permanent Secretary, Governor of Benue State, Senator, Minister, and now Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He noted that Akume’s leadership legacy continues to inspire a new generation of public servants.

On behalf of the NTCA National Executive Council and its General Congress, both in Nigeria and the Diaspora, Nwabueze formally decorated Senator Akume as the Grand Patron of NTCA and Star Associate of President Tinubu, conferring upon him the full rights and privileges associated with the honors.

The Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA), also known as “No Vacancy in Aso Rock 2027,” is a registered organization of like-minded Nigerians at home and abroad, dedicated to promoting and supporting the Tinubu administration’s policies and programs aimed at driving national progress. The movement has a strong presence across all 36 states and 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
