The United States Embassy in Abuja expressed its congratulations to Benue State University Makurdi for joining the prestigious network of American Spaces Nigeria. In a recent post on their official Facebook page, they announced the inauguration of a new “Window on America” at the university on August 2nd.
This new space will offer both students and the public access to valuable @AmericanSpaces and @EducationUSA services. The Embassy believes that this addition will foster a stronger connection between Nigeria and the United States, providing opportunities for cultural exchange, educational resources, and information about various aspects of American life.
During the virtual opening ceremony, Julia McKay, the Embassy’s Cultural Affairs Officer, highlighted the significance of the American-themed environment created at the university. She emphasized that the new space would host a diverse range of programs and activities focusing on important themes such as entrepreneurship, media literacy, digital marketing, and women’s empowerment.
