Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, the Commander of the 23 Brigade, recently hosted the newly appointed Commissioner of Police (CP) for Adamawa State, CP Dancombo Morris, at the Headquarters 23 Brigade, Gibson Jalo Cantonment in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
In a statement Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at HQ 23 Brigade, provided details of the engagement Lieutenant Adebayo Samuel Adewumi said during the meeting, Brigadier General Zawaya underscored the critical importance of cooperation and collaboration among various security agencies to ensure the peace and security of Adamawa State residents. He assured the Commissioner of his full support and cooperation, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining an open-door policy of friendship and collaboration. “Cooperation is imperative among all security agencies as we collectively strive to enhance the nation’s security,” he emphasized.
Brigadier General Zawaya emphasized that the Nigerian Army, alongside the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, must work in synergy to achieve a common goal – creating a safe environment conducive for business and societal well-being.
In his response, CP Dancombo, accompanied by his management team, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the significance of collaboration between the Police Command and the 23 Brigade. He noted that security is a shared responsibility, acknowledging the pivotal role of the Nigerian Army in complementing the efforts of the police force in tackling insecurity.
The visit, which took place shortly after CP Dancombo assumed office on February 14, 2024, aimed to strengthen existing relationships and seek further support and cooperation from the 23 Brigade. CP Dancombo praised the longstanding cordial relationship between the State Command and the Nigerian Army, expressing his commitment to fostering closer ties for effective policing in the state.
The event included presentations of mementos, the signing of the visitor’s book, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
