The Commander Infantry Corps (CIC) Nigerian Army (NA) Maj Gen OO Oluyede has decorated the newly promoted officer- Lt AO Oropo with his new badge of Capt Rank on Tue 25 Jul 23.
The event, which was held at the Conference Room of the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre (HQ ICC) witnessed the presence of senior officers, officers and wife of the newly promoted officer.
In his address, Major General Oluyede offered words of wisdom and encouragement to the newly promoted Captain and other officers in attendance. He urged them to continue their unwavering dedication and hard work, not only for their personal growth and that of their families but also for the betterment of the Nigerian Army and the nation as a whole. Emphasizing the value of diligence, the CIC highlighted that hard work is genuinely appreciated and rewarded within the ranks.
During the ceremony, Major General Oluyede also took the opportunity to extend his heartfelt congratulations to the outgoing Corps Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), AWO Abiodun Ayanwale, who had completed an impressive 35 years of service. A colorful send-off ceremony was held in honor of the RSM on the same day, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the conference room of the HQ ICC.
The CIC commended the outgoing RSM for his commendable service and for achieving the rank of AWO. He encouraged the retired RSM to prioritize his happiness during this new phase of life.
Major General Oluyede used the occasion to inspire all the soldiers of the Corps, urging them to continue their outstanding work and to support one another as brothers and sisters in arms.
The ceremony’s highlights included the presentation of gifts and cash to the outgoing RSM, symbolizing appreciation for his dedicated service. Additionally, group photographs were taken to commemorate the memorable event.
