In a resolute effort to bolster Nigeria’s revenue generation and combat the persistent challenge of revenue leakages, the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). This momentous collaboration was unveiled on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, at the Nigeria Customs Headquarters in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s financial landscape.

The collaborative initiative between the Nigeria Customs Service and RMAFC aims to align strategies and pool resources to maximize the remittance of accrued revenue to the Federal Government. During the announcement, Chairman Muhammad Shehu Umar and his RMAFC delegation received a warm welcome from Acting CGC Bashir Adeniyi. Acting CGC Adeniyi remarked, “It would be a collective responsibility for all of us to come together to minimize revenue leakage and maximize remittance of accrued revenue to the Federal Government.” He also lauded RMAFC for their persistent efforts in tackling revenue challenges, recognizing the pivotal role this collaboration could play in achieving their mutual goals.
