For the first time in Anambra State, every civil society organisation under the EU-SDGN programme coordinated their observation efforts from a single shared Election Observation Hub, marking a new approach to election monitoring.
The hub, equipped with data screens, field reports, sign language updates, gender trackers, and real-time media alerts, brought together diverse expertise under one roof. Observers monitored the polls collectively, focusing on areas such as electoral governance, women’s political participation, media accountability, and disability access.
According to the EU, the initiative symbolised partnership and solidarity, demonstrating that the Union stands alongside Nigeria’s democracy, supporting credible, inclusive, and peaceful elections.
“One hub. One process. One democracy where every voice mattered,” the EU noted, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the observation exercise.
