FRSC intercepts 92 motorists conveying fuel in jericans in Rivers

In accordance with the directive issued by the Corps Marshal regarding the inspection of vehicles transporting fuel in jerricans, a total of ninety-two (92) motorists were identified engaging in such hazardous practices within Rivers State.

Swiftly responding to this concern, operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) took immediate action to ensure the safe transfer of the fuel from the jerricans into the vehicles’ tanks.

This proactive measure is aimed at mitigating the significant risks associated with transporting petroleum products in containers that do not meet safety standards.

Given the gravity of these findings, drivers and passengers are strongly cautioned against the perilous practice of carrying fuel in jerricans due to the inherent dangers it poses.

The FRSC underscores the critical importance of prioritizing safety on the roads and emphasizes the need for all motorists to comply with established regulations for their own safety and that of others.
