Imo Attack: General Dada visits wounded soldiers, vows justice for perpetrators 

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of the Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA II, Major General Hassan Dada has committed to ensuring that those responsible for the heinous act, which resulted in the tragic loss of five personnel from the Joint Task Force Operation Search and Flush (OP SAF), are held accountable.

Acting Deputy Director of 82 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Unuakhalu, reported that Major General Dada made this solemn promise during his visit to wounded soldiers at the hospital in Owerri. These soldiers had sustained injuries during the unfortunate incident that occurred on September 19, 2023, in the Obowo community within the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Council of Imo State.

During his visit, Major General Dada conveyed the appreciation of both the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff to the soldiers. He commended them for their unwavering dedication to restoring peace in Imo State and the broader South East region. He also assured the soldiers that they would receive the best available medical care at no cost and expressed his optimism for their swift recovery.

Major General Hassan Dada paid condolence visits to leaders of other security agencies who had lost personnel in the same incident. He encouraged everyone to remain focused and resolute in their efforts to bring an end to the cycle of violence in the South East region. He emphasized his commitment to strengthening the existing cooperative relationships among security agencies.
