Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf presented 78 new patrol vehicles to the Kano State Police Command to bolster security efforts across the state.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command DSP Abdullahi Alhaji, the ceremony, held at Kano State Government House, highlighted the Governor’s commitment to a secure and peaceful environment, emphasizing the critical role of police in safeguarding lives and property.
In his address, Governor Yusuf underscored that the primary duty of any government is to provide security. “The donation of these 78 patrol motor vehicles to police divisions across Kano State demonstrates our commitment to fostering a safe and stable environment for our residents and businesses,” he remarked. The Governor also expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of other security agencies in maintaining peace across the state.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, spoke on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, expressing gratitude to the Governor for his proactive support. CP Garba highlighted that the Kano State Police Command, with its 11 area commands, 78 divisions, and 100 outposts, stands better equipped to address security needs. He assured that the vehicles would be deployed strategically, enhancing rapid response and maintaining public safety.
CP Garba further pledged that the police would continue to uphold their duty to protect Kano’s citizens and sustain the Governor’s vision of a secure state. He expressed hopes for ongoing support, emphasizing that these contributions will empower the police in their mission to keep Kano safe.
