Maui Wildfire Tragedy: Nigerian Government extends condolences to US

The Federal Government has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government and citizens of the United States of America following the tragic wildfires that swept through Maui County in the State of Hawaii.

In an official statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca Omayuli, it was expressed that, “The Federal Government of Nigeria empathizes with the Government and people of the United States of America, in light of the grievous wildfires that swept Maui County in early August 2023. This devastating event led to a tragic loss of more than a hundred lives and the displacement of numerous individuals.”

The statement further conveyed that, “Nigeria shares in the sorrow caused by this unfortunate incident and stands in solidarity with the United States of America and the affected families during this challenging period.”
