NAF airstrikes hit bandit strongholds in Kaduna

As part of Operation FARAUTAR MUJIYA’s intensified air interdiction campaign, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted strategic airstrikes on November 12, 2024, targeting major bandit hideouts in Dunya Hill and Batauna Forest, Giwa, Kaduna State. The dense vegetation and cave networks in these areas have long provided safe havens for criminal groups.

According to Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa said the strikes, executed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, followed meticulous intelligence gathering to identify high-value targets, including logistics hubs and concealed weapon stockpiles. The operation resulted in the neutralization of numerous bandits and the destruction of critical resources.

Local sources report disarray within the bandit ranks, with many fleeing their strongholds. Notably, several kidnap victims have regained freedom amidst the disruption caused by the NAF’s precision strikes.

The Air Force reiterated its commitment to sustaining these operations to dismantle criminal networks and support surface forces in restoring peace to the Northwest. Updates on Operation FARAUTAR MUJIYA’s progress are anticipated in the coming days.
