The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out precision airstrikes on key Boko Haram hideouts in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State, delivering a significant setback to the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of the insurgency.
The coordinated strikes, executed under Operation HADIN KAI on July 6, 2025, targeted Wa Jahode and Loghpere—fortified enclaves near the Nigeria-Cameroon border known for harboring terrorist commanders and stockpiled logistics.

Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions had earlier confirmed heightened terrorist activity in the area, including the construction of fortified shelters, logistics hubs, solar-powered structures, and the presence of black flags—signaling preparations for renewed attacks.
Acting on the intelligence, NAF deployed strike aircraft to destroy critical infrastructure including command centres, weapons depots, and logistics warehouses. The operation resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists and a major disruption of their supply chain.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, stated that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to intensifying aerial operations to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace to Nigeria’s North-East and other affected regions.
