The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a fresh rotation of troops deployed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Zamfara State as part of efforts to sustain combat effectiveness, enhance personnel welfare and maintain pressure on criminal elements threatening national security.
The exercise, conducted under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, is part of the NAF’s operational policy of periodically rotating personnel across theatres of operation to reduce operational fatigue, preserve combat readiness and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of air and ground support missions.
The troop rotation allows one contingent to complete its operational tour and proceed on a well-earned rest to reunite with their families, while a fresh batch of trained personnel assumes frontline duties, ensuring continuity in ongoing operations without disrupting operational momentum.
According to the NAF, the initiative reflects its recognition that personnel welfare and mission success are closely linked, with the regular rotation of troops serving as a critical component of its strategy to maintain a highly motivated, resilient and mission-ready force.
The exercise was coordinated by the Directorate of Regiment under the Operations Branch at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, underscoring the Service’s commitment to safeguarding both national security and the well-being of its personnel.
The Air Force said that by prioritising the physical resilience, mental well-being and professional preparedness of its troops, it is strengthening its ability to project decisive air power while ensuring it remains ready to respond effectively to evolving security challenges across the country.
