The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received an assessment report from the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) detailing the recent violent clashes between farmers and herders in Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Taraba State.
The report, which was conveyed through NEMA’s Yola Operations Office, highlights violent attacks by unidentified assailants on May 13 and May 23, 2025. Affected communities include Wuro Sugar, Munga Lelau, Munga, Dasso, Magami, Banbuka, Bandawa, and Jen.
Preliminary findings confirm casualties, displacement of residents now sheltering in IDP camps, and significant property destruction.

NEMA expressed deep concern over the humanitarian impact of the crisis and is coordinating with stakeholders to assess urgent needs and provide necessary assistance. A rapid response team has been deployed to deliver relief materials to the displaced.
NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, conveyed condolences to the Taraba State Government and families of the victims. She reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the affected communities and ensuring an effective recovery in collaboration with state authorities.
