NEMA refutes claims of warehouse looting in Abuja

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has firmly refuted recent media reports alleging the looting of its warehouse by unidentified individuals in Abuja on Sunday.

In an official statement issued by the NEMA Press Unit, spokesperson Manzo Ezekiel clarified that the warehouse in question does not belong to NEMA. Despite this, the agency expressed solidarity with the affected owners of the looted facility.

Amid concerns regarding potential security breaches, NEMA’s Director General, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, has taken proactive measures. He has instructed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to reinforce security measures in and around all NEMA offices and warehouses across the nation.

The directive aims to prevent any unauthorized access to NEMA facilities and ensure the safety of assets stored within them. NEMA underscores its commitment to safeguarding its resources and maintaining operational integrity in the face of emerging challenges.

By swiftly addressing the misinformation and fortifying security protocols, NEMA aims to uphold public trust and continue its vital role in emergency response and disaster management nationwide.
