The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, is set to implement the Electronic Call-Up System for the Onne Port Complex. This move follows approval from the Federal Executive Council.
During a recent pre-implementation visit by the executive team from Callup Technology Services Limited and Forge Concepts Limited, Dr. Dantsoho affirmed the NPA’s commitment to accelerating the automation of truck traffic at Onne before the end of the quarter. He emphasized that the system will integrate with the Port Community System (PCS) and the upcoming National Single Window (NSW), and will prioritize the use of sustainable energy sources.
The Onne Port Complex, home to the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) and Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT), is the largest Oil & Gas logistics hub in West and Central Africa. It has experienced significant growth in vessel and cargo traffic recently. Dr. Dantsoho, who previously served as Port Manager for Onne, has been instrumental in fostering the growth through innovative and investor-friendly initiatives.
