There is widespread jubilation across Nigeria following the release of the 2024 promotion examination results for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Officers across the federation expressed gratitude to Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his dedication to improving welfare, career progression, and promotion processes since assuming office three years ago.
In a statement National Public Relations Officer NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja CSC Afolabi Babawale said CG Audi noted that upon taking office, there was a backlog of overdue promotions. “That is now a thing of the past,” he said. “We have ensured that promotions for officers are regular and timely since I assumed leadership.”
The CG’s commitment to welfare was further highlighted during the 5th annual meeting of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire Service, and Immigration Board, where 9,937 NSCDC officers were promoted. The promotions were in line with Audi’s vision of eliminating stagnation and delays for officers.
Among those promoted, 40 officers advanced to the rank of Assistant Commandant General (ACG), and 100 were elevated to Commandant of Corps (CC). Additionally, 700 officers were promoted or converted to various other ranks, including Chief Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Inspector of Corps. Two officers were awarded special promotions for their exceptional service and contribution to the Corps’ integrity.
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, CG Audi urged them to continue proving their merit by maintaining high standards of service. He reassured the Corps that under his leadership, promotions would remain regular and based on performance.
