NAF launches medical outreach to aid Maiduguri flood victims

In response to the severe floods impacting Borno State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has initiated a comprehensive medical outreach to support affected residents of Maiduguri.

According to Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the operation, launched on 11 September 2024 at a primary school near the NAF Base in Maiduguri, is in line with directives from the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.

The outreach focuses on providing essential medical care, food, water, and relief materials to survivors. Beneficiaries are receiving free medical consultations, medications, and insecticide-treated mosquito nets. A woman who gave birth the previous night is among those receiving specialized care.

This effort is part of a broader relief operation, coordinated with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The NAF’s intervention, set to continue as needed, aims to prevent disease outbreaks and safeguard vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
