Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has disclosed that the company is under attack from individuals opposed to its ongoing transformation agenda.
Ojulari made this known while receiving a delegation from the national leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, on Thursday. He stressed that the reforms being implemented under his management would not be derailed despite resistance.
“We are under attack. We will not bow to short-term pressure. Change comes with a price, and while the transformation is tough, it will ultimately serve the best interest of Nigerians,” he stated.
Ojulari reiterated his commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate, noting that his team has prioritised reviving the nation’s refineries through the Incorporated Joint Venture (IJV) model to ensure long-term sustainability rather than temporary fixes.
He thanked the union for its solidarity, assuring that NNPC would remain focused on its reforms despite challenges.
In his remarks, PENGASSAN President, Comrade Festus Osifo, commended the progress made under Ojulari’s leadership, including improved pipeline operations and a reduction in crude oil theft. He pledged the union’s support, affirming: “We will work with you to ensure system stability for the benefit of all Nigerians.”
