PCRC, NSCDC strengthen ties with Theatre Command OPHK on security

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Borno State Chapter, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have pledged stronger collaboration with the Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (Northeast), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in tackling insecurity in the region.

According to Media Information Officer Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI Lieut. Col. Sani Uba, leading a delegation to OPHK headquarters in Maiduguri, PCRC Chairman Ambassador Abatcha Umar Nanabe commended the military for supporting the Committee’s recent security workshop at the University of Maiduguri.

He noted that closer partnership with OPHK, paramilitary agencies, and the public was vital in eradicating insurgency. The visit also served as a condolence to the Theatre Commander over the death of Colonel Bello Umaru, Commander of 7 Military Intelligence Brigade.

Similarly, the new Borno State NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, called for deeper collaboration with the Armed Forces in protecting critical national infrastructure and sustaining joint operations.

In response, Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar assured both delegations of continued cooperation, stressing that synergy among security agencies has been key to successes in the Northeast. He praised NSCDC personnel for their frontline contributions and reaffirmed OPHK’s commitment to civil-military cooperation.
