PDP appoints caretaker team for Cross River chapter

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its South South Zonal Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the party in Cross River State following the expiration of the tenure of the state executive committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC), which said the move was necessary to avoid a leadership vacuum ahead of the state congress scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025.

According to the party, the caretaker committee, led by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, has been mandated to work closely with the NWC in preparing for the congress that will produce a new executive committee for the state chapter.

The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, who signed the statement, urged party leaders, stakeholders, and members in Cross River to remain united and committed to the growth of the party.

“The NWC charges all leaders, stakeholders, and members of our party in Cross River State to remain united, steadfast, and continue to work together in the overall interest and progress of our great party,” the statement read.
