Police crack Chinese National’s murder case, arrest two suspects in Jos

The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two suspects in connection with the murder of Mr. Chen Wang, a Chinese national and employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State. The arrest follows a coordinated, intelligence-led operation across state lines.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said Mr. Wang was found dead on January 12, 2025, with fatal stab wounds to the chest inside his office. Prompted by a distress call, the Ogun State Police Command launched an investigation, with support from the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran.

Police investigations revealed that the suspects—Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State—were factory workers believed to be romantically involved. On the day of the murder, they allegedly exploited a skeleton staff schedule, disabled the company’s security system, and fatally attacked Mr. Wang. The pair then stole the keys to his residence, looted his home, and fled the state with stolen funds.

After six months on the run, they were arrested on July 14, 2025, in Jos, Plateau State, where they had assumed false identities. The operation involved digital forensics, biometric tracking, and human intelligence.

Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, commended the officers involved and reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to protecting all residents, including foreign nationals, through proactive and technology-driven policing.

The suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
