Police investigate alleged housebreaking by armed operatives in Ekiti

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Joseph Eribo, has ordered a discreet investigation into a viral video showing armed security personnel forcibly entering an apartment in Ado-Ekiti.

The video, which has sparked public concern, alleged that the operatives belonged to “Operation Flush,” a Joint Task Force comprising various security agencies. However, the Ekiti State Police Command has distanced itself from the unit, stating categorically that it has no affiliation with any formation known as “Operation Flush.”

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, the Command condemned the incident and assured the public that appropriate action would be taken once facts are established.

“The Commissioner of Police has directed a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served,” the statement read. “We urge anyone with useful information, especially the victim(s), to come forward to assist with the investigation.”

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and maintaining public safety across Ekiti State.
