Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led a high-powered delegation of political leaders and dignitaries to the wedding ceremonies of the children of Babagana Umara Zulum in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Among those in attendance were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, governors from several states, members of the National Assembly, ministers, and prominent figures from across the country.
The wedding Fatiha was held at the Maiduguri Central Mosque, located near the palace of the Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi.
The ceremonies featured multiple unions: Aisha Babagana Zulum was married to Mohammed Idi Barde; Mamman Babagana Zulum to Yagana Mustapha Busuguma; Umar Babagana Zulum to Fatima Azzaki Jidda; and Abba Abubakar Umara to Aisha Ibrahim Musa.
Vice President Shettima also served as the wali (guardian) for the bride, Aisha Babagana Zulum, formally giving her hand in marriage to Mohammed Idi Barde.
Other notable attendees included former Vice President Babagana Kingibe; National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda; Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau; industrialist Aliko Dangote; former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff; and former Minister of Communications, Isa Ali Pantami.
Governors from Kwara, Ogun, Gombe, Yobe, Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Nasarawa, Katsina, and Kaduna states attended the event, while the governors of Imo and Oyo states were represented by their deputies.
Also present were several cabinet members, including ministers responsible for agriculture, budget and economic planning, housing and urban development, health and social welfare, and education, alongside the Minister of State for Regional Development.
The event further drew the attendance of elder statesman Muhammadu Indimi and a number of traditional rulers from across the country.
