The Sudanese government has issued an urgent appeal to the international community to enforce international laws and compel the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to cease attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khartoum condemned recent assaults by the RSF, including a suicide drone strike targeting the Osman Digna Air Base in Port Sudan. The attack damaged several warehouses and civilian service facilities. Just two days earlier, similar airstrikes were reported in the city of Kassala.
“The escalation by the RSF militia and its regional sponsor highlights a clear intent to destroy infrastructure and vital services essential to the welfare of Sudanese citizens—a conduct that violates international norms and laws,” the statement said.
The Ministry strongly denounced what it described as “criminal and terrorist behavior” and reiterated calls for immediate international intervention to halt the militia’s actions. It further urged the global community to exert pressure on regional states allegedly supplying the RSF with advanced weapons, funding, and strategic support, arguing that such backing perpetuates chaos and threatens both regional and international stability.
Speaking to journalists in Nigeria, Almoiz Mohamed, Media Officer of the Sudanese Embassy, emphasized that Sunday’s drone attack demonstrated that the conflict was more than an internal rebellion. “This is a full-fledged aggression orchestrated and supported by well-known regional powers,” he stated. Mohamed warned that providing advanced drones to the RSF poses a severe threat not only to Sudanese national security but also to regional and global peace.
He called for urgent, decisive action from the international community to curb these violations and restore stability in the region.
