In a fierce encounter, troops of the Nigerian Army eliminated nine terrorists and recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition during operations in Kampani Doka and Rifigoro communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The offensive began when troops advanced into a terrorist stronghold near Kampanin Doka, where they encountered heavy resistance. The ensuing gun battle, which lasted for hours, saw the troops overpower the terrorists with superior firepower, resulting in the neutralization of seven terrorists. Recovered from the scene were three AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines (four fully loaded with 120 rounds of 7.62mm Special), a magazine carrier, six motorcycles, three mobile phones, two Baofeng communication radios, and three pairs of civilian clothing.

The operation extended to Gayam village within the same local government area, where a notorious insurgent leader was neutralized. Some of his accomplices fled with gunshot wounds, abandoning their weapons and equipment. Among the items seized were a PKT machine gun with eight rounds of ammunition, a Baofeng radio, various communication devices, one SMF magazine, and 14 mobile SIM cards.
These successful operations represent a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the region. The Nigerian Army urges the public to continue supporting the security forces in their relentless efforts to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
