In a collaborative effort involving the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, a targeted clearance operation was executed across strategic areas of Udda, Ihiteukwa, and Orsumoghu. This operation, situated along the borders of Orsu and Ihiala Local Government Areas of Imo and Anambra States, respectively, aimed to dismantle insurgent activities notably led by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Encountering guerrilla tactics and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the security forces demonstrated unwavering resolve, neutralizing the notorious IPOB/ESN Ihiteukwa terrorist camp Commander, Tochukwu alias Ojoto, along with two accomplices. Substantial weapons, communication devices, narcotics, and other materials were confiscated, including 2 undetonated IEDs, 6 detonated IEDs, and bomb-making components.

This operation marks a significant setback for terrorist networks in the region, with the captured materials safely disposed of. In a separate incident in Cross River State, troops engaged suspected kidnappers in a fierce confrontation, resulting in the recovery of firearms and communication equipment abandoned by the fleeing criminals.
