In a decisive operation on Friday, August 16, 2024, troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Forest Sanity successfully repelled a terrorist attack in the Saulawa area of Birnin Gwari Local Government, Kaduna State.
During a fighting patrol, the troops cleared Maidaro and Ngade Alha villages before engaging the terrorists in a fierce firefight. The operation resulted in the elimination of two terrorists and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a loaded AK-47 magazine with 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 11 motorcycles, one of which was destroyed on-site due to damage sustained during the operation.
This operation highlights the Nigerian Army’s ongoing commitment to disrupting terrorist activities and protecting the nation. Their efforts continue to deny the terrorists freedom of movement, significantly weakening their operational capabilities.
