UNIBEN’s 2003 medical and dental class gifts cutting-edge labs to the University

The University of Benin’s Medical and Dental Class of 2003 has generously contributed state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, valued at millions of naira, to their alma mater. This substantial donation includes cutting-edge medical microbiology and oral biology labs, intended to address critical requirements for current medical and dental students.

This initiative resulted from a comprehensive evaluation carried out by the 2003 alumni class, involving consultations with stakeholders from the School of Medicine and the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) over the past two years. The assessment committee, led by Dr. Emeka Anoje, identified key challenges and subsequently proposed the establishment of a new microbiology laboratory along with the renovation of the existing oral biology laboratory within the School of Dentistry.

Professor Wilson Sadoh, the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, expressed deep gratitude for the exemplary act of the donors, highlighting that this contribution stands as the most substantial donation received by the university from an alumni class.
