A delegation from the United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM), led by Captain Temitope Oladimeji and Sergeant Naif Hernandez, has conducted an assessment of U.S.-funded humanitarian projects across Nigeria to evaluate their long-term impact and sustainability.
Over the past decade, the U.S. military has invested approximately $2.5 million in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare, water access, and disaster preparedness for Nigerian communities. Notable projects include the donation of a mobile hospital to the Federal Medical Centre in Jaji, the installation of a borehole in Tafa community, and technical support for the development of Nigeria’s National Disaster Response Plan.
While the U.S. provided initial funding and technical input, the continued success of the projects has been driven by the commitment of the Nigerian government, military institutions, and local communities.
The assessment team praised the collaborative efforts that have sustained these projects and reaffirmed the U.S. military’s support for Nigeria’s humanitarian and development goals.
