The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Nigeria Office, through its IP SALAYE 2.0 programme, has celebrated young Nigerian entrepreneurs—members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)—who developed innovative solutions to local challenges using technology and intellectual property.
The recognition came during the programme’s closing Demo Exhibition Day held at the United Nations House in Abuja.
In his address, UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Mohamed Malick Fall, commended the corps members for their creativity, teamwork, and resilience, describing their innovations as a reflection of the vast potential of Nigerian youth. He reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to supporting young innovators across the country.

Director of WIPO Nigeria Office, Mr. Tobiloba Moody, praised the participants for identifying real-world problems in their host communities and designing socially impactful business solutions. He emphasized the importance of intellectual property in protecting and scaling such innovations.
The IP SALAYE 2.0 programme—short for IP Skills Acquisition, Learning, and Youth Entrepreneurship—equips NYSC members with critical IP knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and mentorship to enable them transform ideas into viable, IP-protected ventures during their service year.
The event drew the participation of key stakeholders from government, the private sector, and Nigeria’s intellectual property and innovation ecosystems.
