The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Audi, has reiterated the Corps’ commitment to personnel welfare, grassroots security, and inter-agency collaboration during a morale-boosting operational tour of Ebonyi State.
Prof. Audi, who was warmly received by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, said the visit was part of his ongoing strategic tour of the South East aimed at assessing operational challenges, motivating personnel, and deepening cooperation with key stakeholders for sustainable peace and development.
During a courtesy call at the Government House, Abakaliki, the Commandant General commended the governor for his administration’s dedication to security and rural development. He assured that the NSCDC remains steadfast in supporting the state government’s vision through intelligence-driven and community-based security initiatives.
He also appealed for the continued support of the state government, particularly in providing logistics and operational vehicles to enhance the Corps’ capacity to respond swiftly to emerging security threats.
“Security is the foundation upon which progress stands. Our officers in Ebonyi are dedicated, resilient, and ready to defend the people with integrity and professionalism. The NSCDC will continue to enhance its grassroots presence and protect critical infrastructure vital to the state’s prosperity,” Prof. Audi stated.
In his remarks, Governor Nwifuru praised the NSCDC for its proactive contributions to peace and security, describing the Corps as a reliable partner in maintaining law and order. He pledged continued support through the provision of logistics and operational tools to ensure effective service delivery.
“Ebonyi, the Salt of the Nation, thrives on resilience, hard work, and unity. Our people are peace-loving, and we appreciate the NSCDC for its unwavering service to our communities,” the governor said.
Following the courtesy visit, Prof. Audi addressed officers and men of the Corps at the NSCDC Ebonyi State Command Headquarters in Abakaliki, where he urged them to remain disciplined, professional, and proactive in discharging their duties. He reaffirmed the Corps’ ongoing commitment to improving welfare, training, and logistics to strengthen operational performance.
The Commandant General was accompanied by the Ebonyi State Commandant, Francis Nnadi, and other senior officers.
The visit underscores the NSCDC’s strategic efforts under Prof. Audi’s leadership to boost personnel morale, enhance operational efficiency, and foster stronger collaboration with state authorities in safeguarding lives and property.
