On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 20 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The arrests occurred in the early hours at the Lugbe area, following credible intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in online criminal activities.
During the operation, the EFCC recovered a car, laptops, and phones from the suspects. The commission has stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
