Kannywood singer Ali Jita joins APC, received by Deputy Senate President

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, welcomed popular Kannywood singer Ali Isa Jita to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Ali Jita made the announcement during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Senate President’s residence in Abuja on Thursday. Senator Barau hailed the singer’s move as a positive development, emphasizing that Ali Jita’s talent and expertise would contribute to the growth of the APC and the broader Kannywood industry.

“As a young and talented artist, Ali Jita will bring his experience and expertise to the party, which will pave the way for the development of the music and the entire Kannywood industry. I welcome you to the largest party. You are welcome on board,” Senator Barau stated.

Expressing his commitment, Ali Jita, who also serves as the Chairman of the Kano Singers Association, Murya Daya, described Senator Barau as a father figure. “I was dragged to the Kwankwasiyya Movement by its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. But today, I have dropped my red cap; I am no longer in the red cap movement. I am now a full-fledged member of the APC. I want to assure you that I will use all my ability and talent to contribute to this journey. This is my house now, and APC is my party. We will work for its success going forward,” he declared.

The announcement was signed by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity.
