The 2024 South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) Program, facilitated by KOICA Nigeria, concluded in Abuja today after a week of impactful knowledge exchange among delegates from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and Korea.
The program, themed “A Tripartite + Knowledge Sharing Program on ICT-Driven Education and Civil Registration Development Models,” emphasized the transformative power of ICT-based solutions for enhancing education and civil registration systems.
The closing ceremony featured KOICA Nigeria’s Country Director, Mr. Sungil Son, who praised the participants’ commitment to harnessing technology to drive societal progress. “This collaboration demonstrates how we can collectively use technology to improve key public systems,” he stated, acknowledging the role of each nation in fostering innovative solutions for education and registration.
Focused Learning for Ghana and Cameroon
Each delegation had targeted objectives: Ghanaian delegates explored Nigeria’s ICT-led STEM education policies and systems, including the Teachers’ Learning Community (TLC), which enhances teacher development and student performance. Through site visits and stakeholder meetings, they examined scalable models in ICT education.
Cameroon’s delegation focused on Nigeria’s civil registration and national ID systems. Engaging in workshops and field visits, the team analyzed methods to make registration systems more inclusive and efficient, aiming to integrate similar practices back home.
Building Sustainable Partnerships
KOICA’s SSTC program underscores its dedication to fostering international cooperation for ICT-driven public sector advancements. Mr. Son highlighted the long-term value of these partnerships, calling the program a foundation for shared progress and mutual innovation.
As SSTC 2024 concludes, delegates depart with actionable insights and frameworks, ready to implement practices that enhance their national systems.
